Abstract: In sneutrino hybrid inflation the superpartner of one of the right-handedneutrinos involved in the seesaw mechanism plays the role of the inflatonfield. It obtains its large mass after the -waterfall- phase transition whichends hybrid inflation. After this phase transition the oscillations of thesneutrino inflaton field may dominate the universe and efficiently produce thebaryon asymmetry of the universe via nonthermal leptogenesis. We investigatethe conditions under which inflation, with primordial perturbations inaccordance with the latest WMAP results, as well as successful nonthermalleptogenesis can be realized simultaneously within the sneutrino hybridinflation scenario. We point out which requirements successful inflation andleptogenesis impose on the seesaw parameters, i.e. on the Yukawa couplings andthe mass of the right-handed sneutrino, and derive the predictions for theCMB observables in terms of the right-handed sneutrino mass and the otherrelevant model parameters.
