Abstract: We calculate the fidelity susceptibility chi f for the Luttinger model andshow that there is a universal contribution linear in temperature T or inverselength 1-L. Furthermore, we develop an algorithm - based on a lattice pathintegral approach - to calculate the fidelity FT in the thermodynamic limitfor one-dimensional quantum systems. We check the Luttinger model predictionsby calculating chi fT analytically for free spinless fermions and numericallyfor the XXZ chain. Finally, we study chi f at the two phase transitions in thismodel.
