Resumen : Since sudden mortalities and increased skeletal deformities in gilthead seabreamjuveniles are currently found in production hatcheries, this study aimed toevaluate the contribution of essential fatty acids, particularly DHA over earlyfeed quality, larval growth, survival and the apparition of skeleton abnormalitiesin highly commercial interest specie such as Sparus aurata. Sea bream larvaewere reared under intensive conditions and fed rotifers enriched with twodifferent enrichment emulsions differing in DHA content. Thus, essential fattyacid composition of rotifers, showed fatty acid profile of enrichment emulsions. The increase in rotifers DHA (10.0 to 25.4% TFA) were also reflected in ahigher DHA content in the FA composition of larval fed this rotifers (13.0 to20.4% TFA) when these preys were the main source of food (14dah). Survivalat 50 days after hatching (13.9±4.3) and growth evolution from 3dah until day50, were similar in both treatments, whereas bone malformations, particularlyopercula reduction, and jaw deformities were higher in higher DHA rotifersfed larvae.

Material y métodos Técnicas de cultivo Sistema Intensivo (125 huevos.l-1) en 6 tanques de 2m3 de acuerdo con metodología de Roo et al., (2009). Rotiferos enriquecidos con: - Protein Selco TM : Rot-DPS - Protein Selco TM DHA purificado (MorDHA IQ TM ): Rot-DHA (Tabla 1).
