Behind this consolidation lies a valuable legacy of effort and commitment on the part of many people: colleagues who believed in this project but, more importantly, knew how to build on past strategies and achievements.
It is precisely this spirit of continuity and historical vision that motivated me to accept the position of Editor-in-Chief.
For me, Ciencias Marinas is a true example that in Latin America it is possible to achieve something solid and meritorious through harmonious teamwork. Ciencias Marinas uniquely publishes all papers in English and Spanish.
This bilingual format aims to enhance and improve the flow of information among Ibero-American countries and the rest of the world, providing a medium for the ever-growing Spanish-speaking scientific community to reach non-Spanish speakers and vice versa.
Like most international journals, in addition to the print version, Ciencias Marinas appears in electronic form.
