Abstract

The problem of crack propagation along the interface of two bondeddissimilar orthotropic plates is considered. UsingGalilean transformation, the problem is reduced to aquasistatic one. Then, using Fourier transforms and asymptoticanalysis, the problem is reduced to a pair of singular integralequations with Cauchy-type singularity. These equations aresolved using Gauss-Chebyshev quadrature formulae. The dynamicstress intensity factors are obtained in closed formexpressions. Furthermore, a parametric study is introduced toinvestigate the effect of crack growth rate and geometric andelastic characteristics of the plates on values of dynamic stressintensity factors.
