Robot teaming is a well-studied area, but littleresearch to date has been conducted on the fundamentalbenefits of heterogeneous teams and virtually none on temporalheterogeneity, where timescales of the various platforms areradically different. This paper explores this aspect of robotecosystems consisting of fast and slow robots SlowBotsworking together, including the bio-inspiration for suchsystems.
