By carbonizing the polypyrrole coated palygorskite, a novel catalysts support PLS@CNX was synthesized. Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier-Transform infrared were employed to characterize samples. Upon loading Pt metal, the Pt-PLS@CNX was as an anode electrocatalyst in DMFC, surpassing that of Pt-C Vulcan XC-72 catalyst.
