Using CoNO32·6H2O,ZnCH3C0O2·2H2O and FeNO33·9H2O as starting materials, Co1-xZnxFe2O4x=0.0 to 0.6 ferrite films were prepared on silicon by the sol-gel process. The results show that the films have cubic spinel single-phase, and the surface of the films are dense. The average grain size of he films is about 50 nm. The saturation magnetization and residual magnetization reach the maximum when x=0.3, and coercivity decreases with the increase of Zn2+ concentration. The magnetization measurements show that the saturation magnetization decreased with the increasing of temperature with a range from 60k to 400k, and the reasons were analyzed.
