Abstract Diphenylmethane-based compounds bearing heterocyclic recognition groups, capable to act as hydrogen bonding sites were established to be powerful receptors for carbohydrates. In this paper, we describe the synthesis of a further representative of this class of compounds, containing four 1,8-naphthyridine groups as recognition units.
