Abstract : Acousto-optical dispersive delay lines seem to be almost the ideal instrument for adaptive shaping of femtosecond laser pulses. We present the main consideration to the specific schemes of quasicollinear interaction of light and ultrasound in crystals by using strong acoustic anisotropy of the media as well as acoustic wave reflection from the facets of the crystal. The phenomena of strong acoustic anisotropy offer novel areas in development of light dispersive delay lines. Different experimental delay lines were designed and fabricated on base of paratellurite, lithium niobate and KDP single crystals. Experimental research was performed on high-power ultrafast laser systems. The obtained results were in a good agreement with theoretical predictions.
