Classical Greek morphology

Abstract: This entry provides a survey of classical Greek morphology, looking at the nominal and pronominal systems, gender, number, and case; prepositions and particles; the structure of the verbal system, including discussion of the formation of tense/aspect stems, moods, suppletion and diathesis. The main focus is on the grammar of classical Attic, but this is supplemented with dialect data, which serves to illustrate at various points where the grammar of Attic behaves in a typical or atypical fashion.
