This paper documents the creation of a procedural model for researching regional art history. It focuses on the region of Central Ohio and identifies art historical resources and a sampling of artists from 1945-1995. Topics discussed include: art history in Europe and in the United States; the problem of researching regional art history; review of the literature; definitions; the research objective; methodology; analysis of data; significance; and developing regional art histories. The paper includes eleven tables. Three appendices contain regional artist information resource locations for Central Ohio 1945-1995; sources used to compile artists' names; and Central Ohio artists' names, cross-referenced with the preceding lists, including medium, birth and death information if available, and verification information.
