(2013)IEEE MICROWAVE AND WIRELESS COMPONENTS LETTERS.23(5).p.225-227 Mark abstract In this letter we hybridize the well-known FDTD method with the fully implicit method of [1]. In effect, this enables local space refinement without necessitating a smaller time step. In particular, this is very useful for thin layers of highly conducting material or to treat complex media, such as plasma, allowing evanescent waves.
