Avian Influenza caused losses to poultry producers in East Java in 2003 and 2004. Two surveys ofpoultry producers in affected districts were conducted in September 2005. One was of 125 broilerproducers and the other of 125 egg producers. Based on results from these surveys the relationshipbetween farmer and farm characteristics and likelihood of infection of poultry by Avian Influenza isexamined using cluster analysis and probit analysis.
