Abstract : The activity of Ceria-Zirconia supported Ni catalysts was measured in a hybrid cold dielectric barrier discharge DBD plasma-catalytic process for the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide into methane at low temperatures. Hydrogen DBD plasma treatment at room temperature was chosen as an alternative activation to conventional reduction performed at high temperature. The plasma-catalytic tests performed in the presence of the plasma-treated catalyst clearly show that the hydrogen plasma treatment can replace the high-temperature reduction in hydrogen.
